We are humbled by the kind words said, and for the joy experienced today. All of this would not be possible without so many people both on the front line and in the background. We sincerely wish to thank all of our volunteers out at the water stations and directing traffic all day in challenging weather conditions and for our crew manning the various stations at the Quality Hotel. The management and staff at the Quality Hotel! All of our photographers who will provide memories of today that will be cherished forever. An Garda Siochana and the Red Cross for ensuring our safety. Myrunresults for the timing. Frank Greally for another great job on the microphone. The businesses and residents of Clonakilty and surrounding areas for your support and patience for and with our runners. And of course,… the runners! Over 2,500 went out there today over three distances and tackled the gentle slopes of the Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon in the true spirit of distance running by supporting each other and having a kind word or two as you ran alongside each other. We truly hope that you all “found yourself” today and hope to see you back in West Cork in December 2018 for Clon IX
We hope too that you are proud of your individual achievements today and hope to see you all again next year. After all, without everyone mentioned above, we would not have the great event every year! Enjoy the celebrations with the great Amby Burfoot’s words ringing in your ears….. “Every mile is a gift”
