Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon XI

The Clonakilty Waterfront Half Marathon will start and finish at the Clonakilty Park Hotel situated on the N71 bypass road around Clonakilty town. (Approx. 10 mins walk from Clonakilty Main Street)

Route Description

Runners, Walkers & Wheelchair participants turn left on leaving the hotel grounds and head towards Maxol Station roundabout. Running straight through the main street of Clonakilty town around Faxbridge roundabout, participants pass the Waterfront and infamous ‘Whales Tail’ sculpture before making their way out the stunning coastline of Inchydoney road, crossing the causeway onto Dunmore causeway up the infamous Twohigs Hill and on towards Ardfield.

Participants will then make their way down to Duneen strand taking in the panoramic ocean views of Clonakilty Bay passing Dunmore Hotel then back along Dunmore causeway onto Springmount Cross, Clogheen Village, the Miles before turning right heading towards the Clonakilty Park Hotel and Finish line.

The Half Marathon will finish at the Clonakilty Park Hotel grounds where you will receive your unique finisher’s medal, complimentary professional photographs at the C.W.M. Photo Walls along with a Big West Cork Welcome from the Clon Crew, family and friends.

Local physical therapist, Meadbh O’ Leary and all her crew will be providing gentle rub downs/ massages to runners post-race as well.

Teas, Coffees, Extra Water, Cola, Jellies, , Biscuits & World-famous Clonakilty Black & White Pudding will be available complimentary for every participant after completing their race.

Compliments of the Clonakilty Park Hotel to every participant are the Hotel’s Showers, Sauna (It is advisable to bring your own towel and toiletries).

Then it’s time to celebrate your achievement. :-)

When you enter the Half Marathon race you will get a technical running top and on completion, you will receive your high quality unique 2021 finishers medal.
