When does registration close?

Registration close 15 November unless previously sold out.

What time does the race start?

Planned race Start Time for all categories is 9:00 am at The Showgrounds , Clonakilty.

How do I get my race number ?

Post continues for those only registered before the 4th November. Late registrations and overseas race participants : Collect race numbers at the showgrounds next door to the Park hotel on the N71 Link Road , Clonakilty from 5 pm – 8 pm on Friday 24th November, and on RACE morning 6 am – 8:30 am 25th November.
Race start 9 am.
Medals and finish top upon completion.

Make sure your postal address is correct.

Is there chip timing?

Yes , Chip Timing is provided which is activated when you cross over the start and finish line. NO CHIP , NO TIME.

Please do not cover your bib as the chip is attached to the top of it and read from above the gantry.

What does my entry fee include?

A Personalised Race Bib with your name to keep.

Can I change which race I want to run ?

No race distance transfers will be possible from 31st October onward as race timing chips will be printed and programmed for your specific race distance.
If you decide to run a different course on race day, you will not be awarded an official time. Under no circumstances can you transfer your race bib to someone else in the interest in health & safety and incorrect medical details on back of the bib.

NO RACE CHANGE ON RACE DAY.

Start and finish line are at The Showgrounds, Clonakilty , Co Cork.

Where is race parking?

1. MODEL RAILWAY VILLAGE ON THE INCHYDONEY ROAD ,YOUGHALS CLONAKILTY, EIRCODE P85 HR26.

2. DEASYS PUBLIC CAR PARK, LARKIN STREET YOUGHALS CLONAKILTY HEADING UP TOWARDS THE PARK HOTEL.
BOTH PARKING AREAS ARE ONLY 5 / 10 MINUTE WALK TO THE START LINE

TO AVOID DELAYS AND TRAFFIC CONGESTION PLEASE AVAIL OF THESE TWO CAR PARKS

THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL LIMITED PARKING FOR THE HALF AND FULL MARATHON AT THE SHOWGROUNDS

Can I have my name and time engraved ?

When you register through Eventmaster then you have an option to order a metal plate with your name and time engraved from a company called iTab .itab sends it directly to your address and it’s completed with a simple buckle which attaches to the medal’s ribbon.

Will there be prizes ?

Yes, there will be bespoke Swedish glasstrophies for 1st winner in each category and
there will be cash prizes for 1st,2nd,3rd places in mini marathon, half marathon and full marathon distances.
There will be prize cheque for 2nd, 3rd .

Disclaimer

In the event the race must be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, participants will be transferred to the same category for the rescheduled event. This is valid for one year only.
There is no refund.

Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon Privacy Policy

Your support mean everthing to us. As you have heard , Data Protection law is changing across the EU ( GDPR ) .That is why it is so important that we are clear in how we handle and store the personal information of all our event entrants and support crew.

Will there be energy station with water on the course?

Water and energystations will be supplied in 250ml sports cap bottles at approximately 3 mile intervals throughout each course .

These stations will be supplied with Cola, Biscuits, Jellies, Jaffa Cakes, Water, and other medical supplies.

Please bring your own favourite energy gels of your choice and have a safe and great race!

I am a walker – Can I enter the race even though it might take longer than 6h?

Individuals who wish to walk any of the 3 distances are welcome. We will remain at the finish line with a sweeping car on the course until the last participant is home – While it is Safe to do so. We would ask that dogs & bicycles not be brought along during the race this year as they can cause significant disruption to race proceedings.

We would also ask that as the roads are open, runners/walkers should not wear earphones and should be aware of their surroundings at all times.

Runners and walkers will be allowed to remain on the course for as long as it is safe – if visibility is significantly reduced, the sweeping car will clear any individuals remaining on the course.

Will there be toilets on the course?

Yes , there will be Hayes toilets ​​and also public toilets around the course for the race duration.

Will there be pacers?

There will be no pacers.
This is your race , your time, to find yourself.

Is there a facility for baggage drop?

Where is Clonakilty and how do I get there?

Clonakilty is a bustling town in the heart of West Cork, approx. 50 km from Cork city. You follow the N 71 road South West from Cork which takes you through Bandon and directly to Clonakilty town. The nearest airport is Cork airport and you can get to Clonakilty by bus from Cork city bus station or by car by road ( approx 50 min drive ) south west on the N 71 road.

Can I get a refund if I can not attend?

Registration is personal and final.

Can I give my race number to another runner ?

No . The unique race bib and chip is allocated to you and your race category. It also contains your personal and medical information which is vital in the case of an emergency and misinformation can be detrimental to the participants health and well-being.

What are the terms and conditions of my waiver?

Terms and Conditions

By registering for this event I understand and I will agree to adhere to the Guidelines at the time of the event as set out by Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon and Athletics Ireland and the Irish Government.

The Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon will be held in accordance to Government and Athletics Ireland guidelines at the time of the event. The event will be limited to to capacity restrictions at the time of the event including all volunteers staff and sub contractors to coincide with the guidelines and ensure the safety of participants, race support staff and inhabitants of Clonakilty and the surrounding area. By registering for this event I agree to follow all safety guidelines set out by organiser.

I declare that I will be 18 years of age or over on 25th of November 2023 and that I will abide by the laws and rules of the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI). I will not compete in the race unless I am medically fit to do so on the day and I accept that I will be participating entirely at my own risk. I accept that Cork County Council, its Servants or Agents, the Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon Committee, its Members, Associates, Partners and Sponsors will not be liable for any loss, damage, illness or injury whatsoever directly or indirectly occasioned by or resulting from the negligence, wrongful act or default of Cork County Council, its Servants or Agents, the Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon committee, its Members, Associates, Partners or Sponsors, or from any other cause including an act of God or my own physical condition. I accept that the Organisers, their Sponsors and Partners will not be liable for any action, claim, costs or expenses that may arise in consequence of my participation of the event. By entering, I give my permission to Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon to use my name, quotes and photographic likeness for promotional and marketing purposes.

By entering this event I give permission to use all photographic images on website and social media.

I understand and accept that registration is final. Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon will not provide me with a refund for race fee and/or any related cost, for any reason including injury, illness or an inability to travel for the event. The option of race deferral is available to all entrants and closes at midnight on 31 st Oktober 2022. After this date only race distance changes are accepted.

Why must I sign waiver and medical information on bib?

You can only participate in Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon , if you have signed waiver and filled in any medical conditions, allergies , emergency contact information on the back of the bib.
This is important for your safety , Red Cross or any other medical personnel.
