What time does the race start?
Race Start Time for all three events is 9:00 am Sharp
on the 6th March 2021 from the Clonakilty Park Hotel.
** There is No Parking Permitted by, or leading up to, the Start/Finish Line. **
*All Parking facilities is located within the Showgrounds 200m from the Start.
– Marshall’s and Volunteers will guide you to a parking space. It is important to allow at least 30 minutes before the race start to walk to the start line and prepare yourself.
What are the race distances on March 6th ?
Full Marathon 26.2 M , Half Marathon 13.1 M and 10 K.
Start time is 9 am.
How do I get my race bib ? Can I have my race bib posted ?
All participants with Irish and Northern Ireland addresses will have an option to post their pack or collect. You must make a choice when registering. If you choose postal it will add on 2,85 euro to your purchase and race number will be posted directly from MyRunResults HQ in Dublin.
Make sure your postal address is correct.
If you choose NOT to have race pack posted then you will collect in Clonakilty Park hotel.
All overseas runners will collect their race packs.

Thursday 28th Nov 18:00-21:00 pm
Friday 29th Nov – 15:00 to 21:00
Saturday 30th November – 06:00 to 07:30
1. Please note that all finish tops are to be collected at Park hotel before/after the race.
2. Please note that all orders of sizes of tops received before 1st of September will be guaranteed .
3. Please note that after this date you may not be guaranteed the exact size of your top ordered.
Can a friend collect my race pack?
Yes, but make sure to bring all information needed , full name, date of birth , race category , size of finish top that you have selected on your form. These cannot be changed Prior to the race.
Please PRINT OFF your filled out registration form and bring it with you to collect your Registration Pack.
Is there chip timing?
Yes , Chip Timing is provided which is activated when you cross over the start and finish line. NO CHIP , NO TIME.
Please do not cover your bib as the chip is attached to the top of it and read from above the gantry.
What does my entry fee include?
A Personalised Race Bib with your name to keep.
A Personalised Race Certificate of completion.
A uniquely designed technical running t-shirt.

250ml sport caps water bottles every 3 miles along the courses, , Cola, Bananas, Assorted Jellies, Jaffa Cakes for Half & Full;
Teas, Coffees, , Irish Yogurt, Biscuits and World-famous Clonakilty Black and White pudding; along with any other foods that are offered to you on marathon day by our amazing supporters!
Red Cross personnel and Rapid Response with ambulances and all necessary support to bring you home safely.
Fantastic Gardai presence and friendly marshals and volunteers cheering each participant along the route.

Can I change which race I want to run on the day?
If you need to change race distance , this can be done when collecting race pack in Clonakilty Park hotel hotel by our timing crew no later than Friday 29th at 6 pm.
You Cannot change your distance on race day as your timing chip will already be programmed to a specific course. If you decide to run a different course on race day, you will not be awarded an official time. Under no circumstances can you transfer your race bib to someone else in the interest in health & safety and incorrect medical details on back of the bib.
NO RACE CHANGE ON RACE DAY.
Where are the start and finish lines in relation to each other?
Start and finish line are both from Clonakilty Park hotel in Clonakilty town on the By Pass road on the N 71.
Where is race parking?
Race parking is allocated to The Showgrounds next to The Clonakilty Park hotel on the N71 road.
(Approx 200m from the Start/Finish line.
Please follow marshals directions and please allow plenty of time for travel and parking.
There is no parking allowed along the road leading out of the hotel grounds for the participants safety.
Can I have my name and time engraved ?
If you register through Active then you have an option to order a metal plate with your name and time engraved from a company called itab. Itab sends it directly to your address and it’s completed with a simple buckle which attaches to the medal’s ribbon.
Will there be prizes ?
Yes, there will trophy prizes and cash prizes for 1st Place in our 10 K , Half marathon and full marathon distances.
There will be prize cheque for 2nd, 3rd in all three categories.
There are category prizes for female and male in Over 40 , Over 50 , Over 60 and Over 70 for 10 K and in half marathon and full marathon.
Can I self edit my registration ?
Yes, this year you can self edit your registration details, amend addresses , race category until November 15th 2020
After this date your race bib in your name and category is final and will be printed for you.

In the event of a scheduled race must be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions , participants have an option to transfer their entry in same category for next year. This is valid for one year only.
There is no refund.
Your support mean everthing to us. As you have heard , Data Protection law is changing across the EU ( GDPR ) .That is why it is so important that we are clear in how we handle and store the personal information of all our event entrants and support crew.
Will there be energy station with water on the course?
Water will be supplied in 250ml sports cap bottles at approximately 3 mile intervals throughout each course .
Energy stations for the Full Marathon are at approx :
1) 11.5 miles in Rathbarry
2) 17 miles on Red Strand and
3) 22 miles at Dunmore hotel
These stations will be supplied with Cola, Biscuits, Jellies, Jaffa Cakes, Water, Nature Valley Oat bars and other medical supplies.
There are also additional stations along the way.
Please bring your own favourite energy gels of your choice and have a safe and great race!
Will there be massage therapists available on the day?
Yes, there will be a number of massage therapies on the day at the start/finish line under the supervision on Meadbh O’leary Physical Therapy. They would appreciate a donation at your own discretion.
I am a walker – Can I enter the race even though it might take longer than 6h?
Individuals who wish to walk any of the 3 distances are welcome. We will remain at the finish line with a sweeping car on the course until the last participant is home – While it is Safe to do so. We would ask that dogs & bicycles not be brought along during the race this year as they can cause significant disruption to race proceedings.
We would also ask that as the roads are open, runners/walkers should not wear earphones and should be aware of their surroundings at all times.
Runners and walkers will be allowed to remain on the course for as long as it is safe – if visibility is significantly reduced, the sweeping car will clear any individuals remaining on the course.
Are there shower facilities after the race?
Yes, there are shower facilities in the Lesiure Centre at the Clonakilty Park Hotel
Please bring your own towel and toiletries.
You can hire a towel from the hotel for 1 euro.
Will there be toilets on the course?
Yes , Toilet facilities will be available at Clonakilty Park hotel at start line/ finish line and also public toilets around the course for the Half & Full Marathon. The toilets for the 10k will be at the Start/Finish line.
Will there be pacers?
There will be no pacers.

Is there a facility for baggage drop?
There is a bag drop facility at race start/finish at the Clonakilty Park Hotel.
Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon cannot accept responsibility for valuables taken from bags so please do not leave any valuables such as wallets, phones etc. in your bag.
Where is Clonakilty and how do I get there?
Clonakilty is a bustling town in the heart of West Cork, approx. 50 km from Cork city. You follow the N 71 road South West from Cork which takes you through Bandon and directly to Clonakilty town. The nearest airport is Cork airport and you can get to Clonakilty by bus from Cork city bus station or by car by road ( approx 50 min drive ) south west on the N 71 road.
Can I get a refund if I can not attend?
Registration is personal and final.
The registration fee will not be refunded but If you need to transfer entry to next year, you can email us @ firstname.lastname@example.org to request transfer until NOVEMBER 1st 2020.
After this date this option is closed.
Transfer valid for one year.
NO messages on our social media platforms will be answered regards this matter as we prepare for the coming event.
Can I give my race number to another runner ?
No . The unique race bib and chip is allocated to you and your race category. It also contains your personal and medical information which is vital in the case of an emergency and misinformation can be detrimental to the participants health and well-being.
What are the terms and conditions of my waiver?

By registering for this event I understand and I will agree to adhere to the Guidelines at the time of the event as set out by Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon and Athletics Ireland for Road Race Participants following the Covid- 19 Restrictions . I will agree in advance to adhere to these guidelines. I have read the current guidelines and accept that these may change prior to the event. See current guidelines
The event will be held in accordance to Government and Athletics Ireland guidelines at the time of the event. The event will be limited to to capacity restrictions at the time of the event including all volunteers staff and sub contractors to coincide with the guidelines and ensure the safety of participants, race support staff and inhabitants of Clonakilty and the surrounding area. By registering for this event I agree to follow all safety guidelines set out by organiser.
I declare that I will be 18 years of age or over on 28th of November 2020 and that I will abide by the laws and rules of the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI). I will not compete in the race unless I am medically fit to do so on the day and I accept that I will be participating entirely at my own risk. I accept that Cork County Council, its Servants or Agents, the Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon Committee, its Members, Associates, Partners and Sponsors will not be liable for any loss, damage, illness or injury whatsoever directly or indirectly occasioned by or resulting from the negligence, wrongful act or default of Cork County Council, its Servants or Agents, the Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon committee, its Members, Associates, Partners or Sponsors, or from any other cause including an act of God or my own physical condition. I accept that the Organisers, their Sponsors and Partners will not be liable for any action, claim, costs or expenses that may arise in consequence of my participation of the event. By entering, I give my permission to Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon to use my name, quotes and photographic likeness for promotional and marketing purposes.
By entering this event I give permission to use all photographic images on website and social media. Deferal and self-edit registration closes 1st November. After this date, registration is final with only distance changes accepted.
I agree if the event is cancelled due to the ever changing Covid circumstances that your entry fee less postal cost of t shirt and medal pack will be refunded. €20 will be deducted from entry the entry fee. Your pack will be posted with the option of a virtual event.
No refunds shall be processed after registration for any reason other than race cancellation due to COVID-19.
Why must I sign waiver and medical information on bib?
You can only participate in Clonakilty Waterfront Marathon , if you have signed waiver and filled in any medical conditions, allergies , emergency contact information on the back of the bib.
This is important for your safety , Red Cross or any other medical personnel.
